Kevin Harvick Pre-Race Notes: Ford 300

Venue: Homestead-Miami Speedway- Homestead, Fla.

NOTES:

· This Week’s Race Car at Homestead-Miami Speedway … Kevin Harvick will pilot Chassis No. 062 from the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) stable. Most recently, Kevin Harvick drove this chassis to Victory Lane at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks ago. Scott Wimmer drove this same Monte Carlo SS to a 15th-place finish at Kansas Speedway in September. Earlier this season, “Happy” drove this AutoZone Chevrolet to a third-place finish at Michigan International Speedway in August and to Victory Lane at Chicagoland Speedway in July. This is also the same car Timothy Peters raced to a 19th-place finish at April at Nashville Superspeedway. Additionally, Kevin Harvick drove this red and black machine in the 2006 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway where he started from the pole and finished sixth.

· Stat Facts, Former Winner … Kevin Harvick has competed in six NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, completing 96 percent of the laps. He has an average starting position of 10.7 and an average finishing spot of 12.2. Additionally, Kevin Harvick boasts one win, one pole, three top-five and five top-10 finishes at the one-and-a-half mile oval.

· Busch Series Star … Kevin Harvick’s NBS stats include 32 wins, 98 top-five and 141 top-10 finishes in 191 starts. That’s a victory in 17 percent of all NBS races he has entered, a top-five in 51 percent of races and a top-10 in 74 percent of the races. He has also led 5,458 laps and has accumulated over $9 million in earnings.

· 50 Years and Counting … To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Impala nameplate and the 50th running of the Daytona 500, Chevrolet will offer 50 race fans from 50 different states a once-in-a-lifetime weekend experience at the 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 17, 2008. At the same time, 10 of those individuals will win a brand new Chevy Impala. Beginning on Oct. 16 and through Dec. 3, fans can visit www.chevy.com/Daytona500 to enter.

· Busch Championship … When Jeff Burton takes the green flag his No. 29 Holiday Inn Chevrolet for Saturday’s 300-mile event, he will clinch the 2007 NBS owners’ title for RCR. RCR needs only two points to clinch the title over Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 Chevrolet. The only other time a split NASCAR Busch Series title happened was 2003, when Hendrick Motorsports’ Brian Vickers won the drivers’ title and RCR’s driving duo of Kevin Harvick and Johnny Sauter won the owners’ title.

· Pretty Good for a Part-Timer … In 25 NBS starts this season, Kevin Harvick has tallied six wins (Daytona, Loudon, Chicago, Montreal, Watkins Glen and Texas), two poles, 11 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes. Despite having competed in only 25 of the 35 NBS races this season, the 2006 NACAR Busch Series champion has led 374 laps and is fourth in the drivers’ point standings.

· And the Winner Is … Kevin Harvick’s RCR teammate, Jeff Burton, has been named the 2007 Person of the Year by NASCAR Illustrated for his charitable efforts both on and off the track. Representatives from NASCAR Illustrated will present the South Boston, Va., native with this prestigious award on the pre-race stage prior to driver introductions on Sunday, November 18. In addition, Old Spice teamed up with NASCAR Illustrated, and as part of the award and presentation, will donate $5,000 to Duke Children’s Hospital in Jeff Burton’s name.

· Leading the Way in Owner Wins … Childress leads the 2007 NBS in owner wins with 12 – tying last year’s season total – the most recent coming last week at Texas Motor Speedway with Kevin Harvick.

· Media Opportunity … Kevin Harvick will be available to field questions from the media Friday, November 16, immediately following qualifying at the No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet

· RCR Busch Cars at Homestead … In 14 previous Busch Series starts at Homestead, RCR has posted one win (Kevin Harvick, 2004), two poles (Jeff Green, 2002 and Kevin Harvick, 2006), three top-five and seven top-10 finishes. RCR cars have also led 306 laps.

· RCR Busch Brigade … In 34 NBS races this season, RCR has claimed 12 victories with the most recent coming at Texas Motor Speedway with Kevin Harvick. He leads the way with six, Jeff Burton has four and Bowyer has two. Additionally, the three RCR Busch teams (No. 2, No. 21 and No. 29) have a total of 41 top-five and 60 top-10 finishes while leading 1,383 laps.

· The Trifecta … In addition to his driving duties with the No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet and the No. 21 AutoZone Chevrolet, Kevin Harvick, a two-time race winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will drive Kevin Harvick Incorporated’s No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet in the Ford 200 on Friday, November 16th. The race will be televised on SPEED beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).

· Season Finale … In addition to his driving duties in the No. 21 AutoZone Chevrolet, Kevin Harvick, a 11-time race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, will drive RCR’s No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet in the November 18th Ford 400. The race will air live on ABC beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST and can also be heard on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Satellite Radio.

· Catch the Action … Live coverage of the Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be televised on ESPN2 Saturday, November 17 beginning at 4:30 p.m. EST. The race will also be broadcast live on MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio. Qualifying for the final points-paying races on the 2007 Busch Series calendar will air live on SPEED Saturday, November 17 beginning at noon EST.

Kevin Harvick QUOTES:

Why is Homestead-Miami Speedway one of you favorite tracks?

“Miami is one of those race tracks that you don’t know when it is going to stop aging. Every time we go there it loses a little grip, which is a good thing. Miami is one of my favorite race tracks since they repaved it just for the fact that you can move around and it is kind of hard to get a hold of. There are a lot of different places where you can make your car work. For me it has been a lot of fun to race.”

Do you think you have a chance to win all three races this weekend?

“We have been fortunate to have everything click for us in both the Busch and Cup cars at Homestead. Homestead just seems to fit everything that we do. I am looking forward to racing all three races this weekend and hopefully we can win at least one if not all three.”
